HIKARI - Contrahedron - PENDANT LIGHT 2015

Elm and Shoji paper Ø70cm
The origami-inspired Hikari Contrahedron was made in 2015 for the exhibition ”Learning From Japan” in Designmuseum Denmark, who bought the prototype for their permanent collection.

The pendant is a geometrical polyhedron made of paper-thin elm veneer and Japanese paper. By combining computer technologies with exquisite hand craftsmanship, Fenhann transforms complex geometrical principles into stunning sculptural forms.

T
he first Hikari lamps were made in 2004, and the following year Designmuseum Denmark opened a solo exhibition with these works entitled Aero.
