Hikari "AERO" - solo exhibition - Designmuseum Denmark

The beginning of my Hikari light designs started in 2005 when I made my first solo exhibition at Designmuseum Denmark. I filled a room with six pendants, arranged like a miniature solar system. On the walls were four wall lights with patterns referring to the mathematical structures in the pendants.

My two main goals with this exhibition was to show the audience these amazing structures which come from the language of nature in three dimensional objects. Secondly I wanted to give a new take on the Japanese wooden light tradition.

Combining 3D computer drawings with traditional Japanese planers I managed to obtain the accuracy that these shapes require.
