The Annual Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition 2007  

NIWA Garden bench

The bench was created as my first contribution to the Cabinetmakers Autumn exhibition SE. The theme was outdoor furniture and the exhibition was at Frederiksberg garden.

I got the inspiration for the bench from some old benches I saw in front of a tea house in Japan.

With small handmade cuts in the surface I created a beautiful tactile light and shadow effect. The cuts also helps the water to run off the surface and patinates beautifully.
